Other East Valley Communities
The neighboring communities of Chandler, Mesa, Queen Creek, and San Tan Valley are not without their own unique activities and events. Chandler is well known for two major events every year. The Ostrich Festival, Run & Parade held in the fall celebrates Chandler’s early history as an ostrich ranching area. And the Chandler Jazz Festival, which is held in the spring, always attracts large crowds of jazz fans to catch the many excellent musical performances, often featuring name performers.

In Mesa, you will find a delightful season of entertainment from both local and internationally known artists at the Mesa Arts Center. At the Commemorative Air Force Aircraft Museum, you can take a ride in a historic War Bird, kick up your heels at a Big Band Dance, or explore a fine collection of historic aircraft.
Queen Creek in the spring might find you enjoying the Passport to Discovery event, which combines art, culture, science, and fun in an all-in-one community celebration! The fall might find your whole family at the unique Trunk or Treat, an inexpensive family evening of fun in a festival atmosphere where children trick-or-treat by going from car trunk to car trunk on “Trunk or Treat Street” to get their bag filled with goodies.
In San Tan Valley, you could find family fun in the old west at the Superstition Mountain Heritage Festival. This festival includes Wild West reenactments, gold panning for the kids, a “Big Train” model train exhibit, demonstrations by Native American artisans, and Apacheland Movie Ranch alumni relating tales of movie-making. Other times, the clear skies of this new community let you sit back and enjoy the spectacular night skies. In August, it is a perfect place to watch the spectacular Perseid meteor showers.
