Gilbert Historical Museum, Gilbert, AZ

Welcome to the Newman Realty blog where we will be talking about Gilbert, AZ real estate and community news.

Anyone who knows me – and some who don’t – know that I am a passionate advocate for Gilbert. It only makes sense. I live here. I am raising my children here and educating them in Gilbert schools. I chose to start my business, Newman Realty, here. I belong to the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce. Gilbert is great place to live but I am not the only one who thinks that.

In 1980, Gilbert was a small village of a mere 5,187 on the outskirts of Phoenix. Just 34 short years later, it had grown to over 218,000 residents. It is one of the fastest growing places in the country. Now, some towns that grow that quickly do it like a child reaching a sudden, gangly adolescence – all growth but no maturity. Gilbert is not like that. What we have to offer has grown with the town and we have reached an appropriate level of maturity while maintaining a desirable quality of life. Our unofficial motto, “Clean, Safe, Vibrant,” becomes truer every day.

We have a charming shopping district in our delightful Heritage District. New restaurants owned by local entrepreneurs and offering great gourmet and Southwestern food seem to open almost monthly. We have built a history museum and several awesome parks where you can always find something fun to do. And fun events like the dog-friendly “Barktoberfest” and the regular outdoor concert series routinely draw big crowds.

There is no question that Gilbert is a great place to live and the world is noticing.

In 2013, Gilbert was ranked the 2nd Safest City in the United States. The year before, CNN/Money Magazine recognized us a one of the Best Places to Live in the United States. And BusinessInsider magazine named Gilbert the 5th Safest City in the United States. With one of the lowest unemployment rates in the state, it is a great place to find a job, especially in healthcare. And our poverty level is remarkably low, as is crime. As one of the fastest-growing towns in the state – and the country – Gilbert has attracted a number of beautiful new home subdivisions. A search for new home developments in Gilbert produces over 1,700 homes in a large number of new developments. They include such premier locations as the Bridges of Gilbert and Layton Lakes.

At the Bridges of Gilbert, Pulte Homes is offering large, high-end homes set in a community distinguished by on-site streams, waterfalls, trails, and parks. In Layton Lakes, Lennar Homes has created yet another excellent community that includes amenities such as a large community park with a scenic ramada, a fishing dock, jogging track, volleyball court, a large splash pad, a playground and covered picnic areas for families to gather around and celebrate. All are set in an area filled with walking and jogging paths, equestrian trails, tennis and basketball courts, a soccer field, ramadas with picnic table and barbeque grills, as well as many different children’s playgrounds.

Please know that you do not have to deal with on-site agents in these new communities. I can represent you as long as I am registered with the builder as your representative from the very beginning. My fees are paid by the seller but I represent the interests of my buyer clients. Doing this makes sure that you are represented by someone who has only your best interests at heart.
